So glad I have one. I’m not one for milking someone’s insurance over “pain and injury” but you better believe if it’s because of your deliberate stupidity you will be paying heavily.
Seriously, everyone go get a dash cam. Mount it. Hard wire it to loop record whenever your vehicle is on. Just do it.

My guess is that the driver mixed up the two pedals, and accidentally pressed the brake pedal thinking it was the throttle.

Major asshole move. But why am I not surprised it’s a contractor’s truck? Over the past month or two in the Toronto area, I’ve heard of two cases of a ladder that fell off a truck onto the highway. Some of these guys don’t know how to tie down a ladder, let alone know how to drive properly.
I hope this footage is enough for the cops to nail the guy.

Unfortunately so many people on Oppo bought the GW1’s the price has literally doubled since I bought mine. But it is small and simple, if you can find one sub $50 go for it.

Make sure you change it to 720p, youtube defaults mine to 480. But below is a 720p video, no audio - however it can record up to full 1080 wide. The GW1 though looks kinda cheap is pretty straight forward and simple - plus it takes microSD

I need one as well. My neighbor (The peanut one) tried to jump in front of my truck on Saturday while I was about to pull into my driveway, that or she wanted to intimidate me by jumping off the curb (I doubt she would have actually stepped in front of my truck). But anyway, I need to start keeping a record of these things. Know any good cheap ones that I can mount to a 20 year old truck?

If you look some posts back I talked about mine (G1W) that I have hard wired in. Maybe almost a year back.
It’s been working fine. Probably should check to make sure, I have it on a 2 min loop. Just be wary to let it properly shut down before removing the card. I’ve jumped the gun twice and lost some close call footage, not important but I learned my lesson.
